On my listings I can only get Canadas shipping it says cant display how do I add shipping to united states I sell at a flat rate to both Canada and the states what I want to do is allow people in the states to see there rate when they select united states under the shipping rate on front of my listing DAZED AND CONFUSED

Add another shipping method - I know it sounds like you'll just be adding another method to Canada, but you'll be able to specify the region.  I have two in addition to local, one with USA checked off and another (for international) with everything BUT the USA checked off.
