High cost shipping insanely high.

I just noticed a high cost shipping of over 300 dollars from China. It is disgusting that people are trying to rip people off by pulling a fast one. There is no way to report it either. No option in reporting a item for insane shipping fees.

so don't buy from China...

shipping costs are what they are and/or what a seller deems them to be ...purchase/don't purchase = YOUR choice....

have you noticed the cost of shipping via Canada Post lately?...fuel surcharges,etc...

costs have increased dramatically over the past 6 -8 months...for most everything!

have you noticed the price of gas lately?

have you noticed the price of some grocery items lately?

have you noticed the price of goods at retail outlets lately?

have you noticed the price of lumber lately?

SUPPLY & DEMAND...

and many supplies cannot be had!

This is August 2022 and you are looking at post-Covid  supply & demand/no supply...goods and services prices have all increased...

C'est la vie! que sera, sera!

Filter the listings to Canada or North America. Shipping from China to Canada is pretty hit and miss anyway. It seems a lot of Chinese sellers don't fill out the customs information correctly, and the packages get held up indefinitely.

It's most likely for something that is currently out of stock and they're using the shipping as a way to ensure no one buys an item they don't have while also keeping the listing active. I rather doubt they're trying to pull a fast one, as it would be painfully clear when someone went to actually purchase it.

The seller is out of date.

There was a nasty habit a couple of decades ago of selling items for $10 with $100 shipping.

At that time eBay charged selling fees on the item sold, but not on shipping.

So the sneaky seller would make a $110 sale (including shipping) but only pay fees for the $10.

EBay caught on and now sellers pay fees on the buyer's whole payment: purchase, shipping and sales taxes.

So if the seller was being a smartiepants, he's only fooling himself.

However, the cost of shipping in not related to the value of the shipment.

It's based on dimensions, weight, and destination plus level of service.

We can send a letter within Canada for 92c, but Registration will push that cost up to $10.42. Priority Post Nationally would be over $30.

It is also possible that the shipping price is a typo and actually was meant to be $3.00 not $300.00.

Stuff happens.

You can ask the seller if there is an error on his listing and then buy or not as you wish.
