I need to contact Ebay directly

How can I contact Ebay directly?
They intervened in a case and issued me a refund without me asking for anything.
I contacted the seller and we both agreed that I would wait a few more weeks for my missing item before doing anything else.
I told him I would wait until october 31st but now Ebay decided to intervene without any notice and issued me a refund when I didn't even ask for it. Now the seller is mad at me and thinks I scammed him. I haven't found a way to directly contact ebay apart from Livechat but it doesnt even work. Do they have an email adress or something?

If you don't want to telephone eBay (and I don't blame you), your options are LiveChat or trying to contact them through their Facebook or Twitter pages.  Links are at the bottom of the desktop version of eBay under "Stay Connected," but I can't find them on my phone, so here ya go if you're using your phone:

I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of posts about this happening before, but they've been from the seller perspective.  I can't remember why this refunds happened prematurely, but it's something to do with something the buyer or seller didn't do in the Item Not Received Process.  Perhaps the seller sent the item without tracking and couldn't provide tracking details?  Here's the process from the seller's perspective, anyway:

I do have to wonder why you opened a refund request if you were willing to wait a few more weeks for your item, rather than just giving the seller a heads-up message.  I'm also wondering what you expect eBay to do now that you have your money back; eBay can't wrench your money from you.  You and your seller will have to work out how the seller can be repaid if your item does show up.

Your best course of action is to let the seller know that when you receive the item you will let them know and will send them the money via PP.   It would be a waste of time contacting ebay as they will not take the money back from you and give it to the seller...only you can do that and it would be best to wait until the item reaches you because you cannot open another claim.

 

You might also want to mention to the seller that on the Money Back Guarantee page it does state that if there is no tracking uploaded ebay may step in and refund even if the buyer does not ask them to do so.  That's what likely happened in your case.  I don't agree with it but I've had the same thing happen to me as a seller.  They started doing that in the last year so many sellers are not aware of it.

 

Ask eBay to step in

If the seller hasn't responded or if the buyer and seller can't reach a resolution, they can ask us to step in and help.

 

eBay may step in without the buyer asking if there is no valid tracking information available

1. Click this Ebay link and read "Get help with an item that hasn't arrived"

2. Scroll to the very bottom. At this point you're correct to speak to Ebay rather than check any options from any menus.

3. At the  bottom of this page you have two options to contact Ebay directly.

a) Chat with us
1 min wait time

 

b)Have us call you
1 min wait time

 

4.  If you choose "CHAT" Ebay will send you a written transcript of your conversation with the CSR. You can then forward that to the seller. Everyone will know what to do and Ebay will store the record on both accounts. If you choose "Have Us Call You" a rep will call you shortly after. This is fine but you may have to create a new email for the Seller expaining the CSR's directives and you will not have any record of the call.

Send the seller a Message asking for his Paypal address,letting him know that when the purchase turns up you will refund the refund with Paypal.

When and if it does, you could use Friends and Family to send money, which means he pays no fees, but keep in mind that PP's Buyer Protection is not available if the purchase is not what you hoped. (The F&F service is meant for exactly what it says and is basically just a feel-good service that makes PP no money.) The alternative Send Money service will charge him fees, but keeps your Buyer Protection intact.

 

Because you have been in a transaction, you can exchange contact information including PP addresses.
