Listed item not available for delivery to Canada

I have been trying to buy items on eBay Canada but often get the message that the item is not available for delivery to Canada. My question is why eBay Canada list items that cannot be delivered to Canada? One would think that their website should only limit items available to Canada!!!

There are sellers who post that they ship world wide, to get the small boost in Search that selling internationally provides.

Very annoying.

You can check for the real deal sellers by looking at the Shipping tab, which will give you their shipping cost. If it says Contact Seller for Cost, he probably doesn't really ship internationally, or is too dumb to understand that he should do that.

You can also Search on a laptop or desktop using List rather than Gallery View. Then the sellers using the Global Shipping Program will be identified by the words :
Customs services and international tracking provided.

Note that the GSP is a Seller Protection Program and will charge your Canadian duty and sales taxes before your seller ships.

Are you logged into your account when you search? That may help filter the pointless listings.

There have been a few situations where a new Canadian seller lists on eBay.com, in US Dollars ... and does not understand that domestic shipping means shipping to the US.... and.....  NOT... to Canada.

Early in the listing... at the top....  the seller indicates they ship to Canada

Listings are set up for domestic shipping ... only....  and in so doing they block shipping to Canada.

-------------------------

The best thing to do is to look where the seller is located.

If the seller is located in Canada, the seller is doing this.

If the seller is located in the US, the seller is playing the visibility game for international sales.

-------------------------------------

There could also be a seller who lives close to the Canada-US border and can use Canada Post or the US Postal service.
