checkout didnt go through a few times-cart emptied but no history of purchased the items

Hello,

i tried to check out with a valid credit card but it didnt go through. I tried a few times and now i'm worried that i will get charged each time i tried. When i opened my session again, the cart was empty but when i look at my purchased history i dont see the two items i was trying to buy. Will i be charged? if so, how can i get a refund? there is no possibility for me to see if i indeed bought the objects....i'm worried!  anyone got this situation? thanks!

Call the customer service number on the back of your card or on your monthly statement, and ask what charges are  currently showing.

They are more likely to be up to date than eBay.

If there are unwanted charges you can either immediately do a chargeback(s) or you can contact eBay and explain the problem.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.

And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Or both, but start with the card.

Just to add to @reallynicestamps' excellent advice, you should also be able to get this information from the website or app of the credit card issuer. If your credit card was charged, it will likely show up as a “pending” charge at this point before moving to a “posted” charge.
