Ebay Fees problem?

I sold a comicbook for $ 57.00 CA plus $ 22.00  CA for shipping for a total of $ 79.00 CA

My fees were :

$6.55 CA for Final Value fee which is 11,5 % of $57.00 CA

$2.53 CA for Final Value Fee on Shipping fee which is 11,5 % of $22.00 CA

Total Fees $9,08 CA.

I thought the fees were 10%? I should have paid $7.90 CA for fees, right?

Can someone explain to me what I misunderstand? Or how to correct this problem?

It looks like you live in NL, or NB, PE or NS where the HST is 15%.

There is HST on ebay fees now, it has been this way for a long time now....

So the fees to you are 10% plus the 15% HST = 11.5% total......

There is no way to avoid the HST on the eBay fees.

I am from Quebec, but this is the same logic.

We dont have the Harmonized Sales Tax, but the combined rate for the GST and the QST is 14,975 %.

Everything is clear.
