Old eBay user trying to set up Bank Account

I'm an old time eBay user (since 1998) trying to do some selling and I've discovered that ebay.com won't accept any of my Canadian bank accounts.

My reading indicates this is an issue with older accounts like mine where I signed up on ebay.com before ebay.ca existed.  When I try to add an account on ebay.ca it forces me over to .com where all my attempts to add an account give an error.

Has anyone successfully fixed this issue?  I've hit a wall with eBay support and I have hundreds of dollars sitting with eBay and I'm not shipping anything until I get paid.

How does this sit with your buyers?  As far as they're concerned, you've been paid.  You're just stuck waiting for your payouts.

What contact method have you been using to get in touch with eBay, and to whom have you been speaking?  Info on these discussion boards suggests that using eBay's online chat feature (make sure you're speaking to an agent and not a bot) or contacting eBay through Facebook or Twitter is more effective than by phone, where you're usually going to get an outsourced call centre employee rather than an eBay staff member.

I should say that the latest posts from users in your predicament suggest that the only way out of it may be to open a new eBay account that shows you as registered in Canada rather than the United States.

You need to work this out with a Managed Payments specialist, there is no point in talking to regular customer service other than to connect you to a specialist.

All your names must match.
If your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,

you cannot have a bank account as John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,

a Managed Payment account as J J  Jingleheimer Smith,

and an eBay account as JJJ Smith.

The 'micro-deposit' system does not work very well. Use other ID. I used my passport and DH his driving license.

You need a chequing account with a bank or credit union.

I opened a new dedicated online bank account for eBay.  YMMV.

Some of the toughest solves have been older dotCOM accounts switching over to dotCA.

Painful as it may be, if you have not yet made any sales, might be to open a brand new account, start fresh, even though your hard earned feedback disappears.
