Ship Times & Sales - any co-relation?

Our most recent buyer requested that their purchase be posted in two weeks to co-incide with their return from vacation. - Of course!

However, we have noticed, and it may be an illusion no study has been done, that our sales fluctuate with our shipping times? For instance, the faster things are shipped the more sales we tend to recieve - Does anyone know if the internal algorithms take shipping time into consideration?

If they do then it would be a great advantage for eBay to incorporate a validated shipping delay system to mark items as such and thus removing "shipping overdue" warnings that may be interferring with sales.

Increased sales with quality service would be a benefit to everyone. For instance the seller could call in and have an eBay rep validate that a buyer requested in the message system for an item to be held for shipping and then manually update the required ship-by date. Just an idea.

But does anyone know if shipping times affect sales?

Kind Regards

Yes they seem to.

At least here in Canada we are not required to use tracking to reach Global Top Rated Seller status.

Basically for a one off, you have to balance the small hit you take for not shipping within your stated time against your customer's needs.
