Variation feature limited for Canadian company selling cosmetics

The variations capability is only available for certain categories and this limits our ability to sell cosmetics as a Canadian seller. when selling cosmetics such as liptsticks or lip gloss to be able to offer a multitude of shades is pretty basic. Yet we are forced to set up a listing for such products under the ebay.com site rather than the ebay.ca site.  The problem then is that we are unable to charge any sales tax for a Canadian buyer. Under the ebay.com site sales tax tables are only available for the U.S. states, not Canadian provinces.

Why hasn't ebay allowed the same features on the ebay.ca site as found in the ebay.com sites?

Re: Variation feature limited for Canadian company selling cosmetics

First, are you registered to collect and remit sales taxes?

The revenooers get grouchy if you are not.

And are you using the Advanced Sell Your Item Form or the single page simplified form eBay shows newbie buyers?

BTW-- are you aware that Paypal will Hold your customers' cleared payments for 21 days against your good performance? This is a Buyer Protection policy and nothing personal.

However, you can print out PP shipping labels from the cleared payment, and on some services there is a 5% to 18% discount from PO counter prices for doing so. So there's that.
