Suspect seller to bid on it's own item

Hello all,

I suspect a seller to bid on it's own item.  Can this be reported to eBay for investigation?

Thanks.

Absolutely it can. You need to be sitting at a desktop computer or looking at the listing on a website to see it but there is a 'Report Item' link on the right about halfway down. You will then be walked through the steps and options. If you have time, call ebay instead.

But remember that if a seller 'buys' his own item he has to pay the fees to eBay for listing and selling, These can run up to 20% of the 'winning' bid.

So sellers rarely 'win' their own items. If you can see any sign that the seller has a constant bidder who never wins or who retracts a lot of bids, then there is a good chance he is 'shilling' the auction.
