From a search...

That is eBay's standard envelope tracking. They don't get scanned upon delivery, so the delivery date is estimated based on the time they get scanned at the destination post office. Many times it's a few days off. Since the tracking number is proprietary to eBay, USPS won't be able to help with it, so if it doesn't show up you'll have to file a claim through eBay and get a refund.

thanks Lotz.  This is wierd......never heard of it.  So it is coming by USPS?  I paid for First Class Mail USPS.  I hope my item doesn't get munched being shipped in just an envelope.  And there is no way to track it...hm.

"ESUS" stands for "EasyShip USA."  EasyShip is a logistics company, not a carrier.  It coordinates international shipments the way Pitney Bowes (or more likely the company contracted by PBI to operate the Global Shipping Center in Erlanger) coordinates items forwarded through the Global Shipping Program.

EasyShip tends to use a combination of commercial carriers and postal systems to transport items interntionally.  You're most likely looking at a combination of DHL, USPS and Canada Post.  Start your hunt for tracking information here if you're looking for evidence that you haven't received your item yet 😁:

My wife's an online power-buyer.  My sense from her purchases is that the use of mail consolidators and forwarders is not unusual for high-volume merchants in the US and that direct mail shipments are the exception, rather than the rule.

eBay international shipping uses the ES tracking system.  They often use DHL but to Canada they usually use USPS first class.

Ebay standard envelope also uses ES but that is available only within the US.

Thanks, this was very helpful. I had difficulty trying to find proper tracking information (that wasn't just embedded in eBay).

All that being said, don' t watch tracking.

Tracking is a Seller  Protection against unwarranted Claims  of non-delivery.

It doesn't move your purchase any faster.

It doesn't mean gentler handling.

It might mean your purchase has the import fees prepaid, but don't count on it.

Just mark the last estimated date for  delivery on your calendar and relax until then.

If you have problems with delivery- look into Canada Post's FlexDelivery which is a FREE service that leaves your parcels at the local PO for pickup. https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/personal/receiving/alternative-delivery/flexdelivery.p...?

There are a number of commercial carriers you won't see at the consumer level that provide low cost bulk shipping for hand off to the post office at the last leg.  For example Chitchats uses a company called "International Bridge" for US shipments and tracking is under a Chitchats tracking number and is handed off to USPS in the destination State.

The use of multiple integrated specialist shipping companies has become pretty common now, and it does help keep shipping costs down.
