Mailing item in an enveloppe to save on Shipping?

Is it possible to mail/ship something (example : a flat pokemon card) in an enveloppe to a buyer (via Canada Post or some other shipping service) ?

Also, if it's not possible, why is that so?

I know it's possible on ebay.com but is it possible on ebay.ca?

Or should I try ending the listing and selling it on ebay.com instead of ebay.ca

Thanks for the information! 🙂

You can't buy LetterMail labels on line.

You can use postage stamps.

You can buy mint, never hinged, postally valid postage stamps at interesing discounts on eBay.

You can ship most things domestically by LetterMail. They do have to be under 500 grams and under two cm. thick.

The postal system doesn't get too worried about LetterMail being used to ship to the USA. They have better things to do.

You cannot track Lettermail, so don't use it for anything you would be upset to lose.  While the postal system is pretty good about delivery (it's like it was their business or something) and most people are honest, there will be That Guy.

There is a lot to be said for listing on dotCOM instead of dotCA, but that should be a different question.

A flat paper item can easily be sent using lettermail. If the pkg is under 20mm thick you can use oversize lettermail. Pkg cannot be more than 380mm x 270mm x 20mm. You can buy postage at your post office or even use your own stamps. However, there is no insurance or delivery confirmation on Lettermail. I believe most sellers who use Lettermail don’t worry about this unless the item is worth over $50 or so.

If you want to ship a pokemon card in a envelope you would have to make sure that you place your card in a TOPLOADER

You've been given some good advice.

Listing on ,com isn't going to make a difference for postage as you still have to use Canada Post or a Canadian courier to get the item to the customer.  The lower domestic  shipping prices that you see there are likely for USPS services which in many cases, is less expensive than Canada Post.

On another note...unless your listing is something that will generate a lot of interest, starting your items out at .01 will end up costing you  money.    If you get just 1 or 2 bids, the fees will cost you more than what you have been paid
