Just a status report, I mailed two letters on March 16, one to USA east coast, the other to Australia. The Australia buyer gave me a feedback today so that was 10 days, which is pretty good. Haven't heard from US buyer yet.

Hi, received positive feedback today, March 27, for a package mailed to Switzerland (with no tracking) on March 16th.  

Ebay store now on vacation for fear of problems such as "lost" packages.  Most listings do not have tracking and too much work to edit over 1900 of them.

Hope eBay gives us a bigger break with store fees beyond the present one month fee payment deferral.

Canada Post has made some major adjustments for international mail delivery.

Now  there is an alert about Newfoundland and Labrador.

This could be an indication that Canada Post might eventually make some major adjustments to mail delivery in Canada.

The virus is very active in some areas of the US.  The movement of essentials from the US to Canada continues..... but what if there are major concerns about keeping the Canada-US border open.  

There are many Snowbirds returning to Canada.... They must be quarantined for 15 days....  but many are not following recommended actions

The flow of many types of  items from Canada to the US has been questioned.... items that should not enter the US......

St John's sorting plant.  13 postal workers exposed to COVID-19 when they went to a funeral last week. Newfoundland Herald says 5 workers have tested presumptive positive.

North Bay (ON) depot and post office are closed March 27.  One employee has tested presumptive positive. Might reopen next week.

Sent a package March 13th (a Friday no less!) to Italy (Palermo - Sicily), received feedback today (March 27).

Two weeks which is pretty much normal for Italy.

Hope for similar results for shipments sent this week to Bulgaria, Germany, Indonesia & Chile (Chile is always very slow).

Overall mail volume is down, so smaller processing times.

You did luck out because a number of areas in Italy have no delivery service at all. Just essentials only.

Canada still has Newfoundland and Labrador (because of St John's) and North Bay (ON) on the red flag list.

The International list expands again. I had been wondering when LIECHTENSTEIN would get added since it is located between Switzerland (previously shut down) and Austria (also previously shutdown), so a bit hard to get to without going through one those countries.

Sending items to the US has become an issue for us.  We have over 20 packages sent to the US over 2 weeks ago sitting in New York (Shipped from Ottawa) all saying Processed Through Facility ISC NEW York and then nothing.  I don't believe it to be customs issues as all 20 items were different products ranging from bed sheets, computer parts and kids toys.  I'm guessing  a lack of workers  since they've been hit so hard 😞 .  3 others sent at the same time have moved along.  Might be time for us to unfortunately shut down shipments to the US  if things aren't moving.   So far customers have been understanding on these packages, but I don't see their goodwill lasting very long.  Obviously things are probably different depending on where your shipments get processed .

My first thought was "airplanes don't see borders", but apparently Liechtenstein has only a heliport and otherwise is serviced by airports in Germany and in Switzerland.

This has not stopped them from issuing Air Mail stamps.

This took me by surprise tonight as I went to print a label for Norway. No dice.

Then I wondered if it may be related to Covid19 and searched the CPC website using their search tool and came up empty-handed. Then I did a Google search that gave me some outdated results but nonetheless confirmed the issue was not mine alone.

We're all Solution for Small Business account holders so why isn't Canada Post communicating this with us directly? I got some slop spam email from the CEO about physical distancing at Canada Post around the same time as CPC would have started these measures so why not provide some information that's relevant to its clients instead of the standard account of how-to use common sense during a pandemic? 

I suppose I'll sit on this package for a few more days to see what shakes down.

It is odd that Norway was on Canada Post's Friday list but not on the list for today (Monday).

I don't think things have gotten better for Norway.

As of March 27, Norway's post office does not have Canada on it's mailing list (but does have the USA).

Ontario red flag for March 31

The Bobcaygeon depot and post office is closed on March 31 due to a situation related to COVID-19.

Mail and parcels will not be delivered today in Bobcaygeon and communities served by this facility. There will be no parcel pickup services. Regular mail services are scheduled to resume on April 1st, pending the direction of public health officials and in consultation with our joint local health and safety committee.
