Can you withdraw a bid on an item or reduce your max bid on an item

If you have bid on an item and then decide that you don't want the item or you were successful in winning another one is there a way to withdraw a bid that you have in or reducing the bid you placed so that somone else may win it?

What happened to me was I was trying to get a spoon set several bids and I lost all.  I had to go away for a few days and put reasonable bids on severl sets in the price range that I felt comfortable with and hadn't won in before.  I came back and found that I was successful winning 2 sets and am leading in 2 more.  I really don't need 4 sets of spoons.

Hi upontweed0

"If you have bid on an item and then decide that you don't want the item"

Sorry on ebay there is a saying...

YOU BID
YOU WIN
YOU PAY

"or you were successful in winning another one is there a way to withdraw a bid that you have in or reducing the bid you placed so that somone else may win it?

Sorry again... NO, only active listings you can request from seller to cancel bids, once won the the old saying still apply above.

ONLY the seller can let you off the hook, but keep in mind they are NOT obligated to do so.

Contact the seller and plead for mercy and no results you could end up with strikes on your record and will prevent you from bidding or even get booted off ebay.

Best contact the seller and try to resolve.
