Seller used the wrong zip code!

Hello all.  I recently purchase a piece of petrified wood from a seller in California.  The shipping was Global Shipping.  About 10 days after purchase the item showed to be delivered even though the tracking showed it to be still in Kentucky.  I have not received any confirmation from Global Shipping that they received it even though it shows it has been delivered for  5 days.  It shouldn't show it has been delivered if it had arrived at the Global Shipping center.   I have found some information that the zip code for Global Shipping is 41018 but the seller used 41025.  It is rather confusing since some information shows that 41025 was used by Global Shipping at one time.   It appears from recent forums on eBay that other sellers have made this same mistake.  I have phoned eBay and they say to wait a few days more.  I am just wondering who got my log!!

Both postal codes are in Erlanger Kentucky so they are probably both PB addresses. Sellers are given the address by eBay/PP on the payment info so it would be unusual for a seller to have the wrong address. You said you haven't received confirmation from PB that they have received it, what sort of confirmation do you usually receive?

It was a holiday in the US on Monday so they might be a little slower on processing packages or just slow on updating tracking showing that it has already left the center.   It isn't uncommon for a package to leave Erlanger but to not be given a tracking number right away.

Hi there. Global Shipping always provides a email to let you know that the package has arrived and also a email once the package departs their facilities. I haven't had this happen before and so it's a bit odd that five days have gone by and nothing. I purchase another item two days ago through Global Shipping and have received an email today that it has arrived. I'm hoping it is just a blip and someone forgot to send along the information.

Hello again. Good news. I finally received a email from Global Shipping that the petrified log has been shipped out and heading to Canada. I never did receive a message from them stating they had received it which is the usual protocol. It took 6 days for the tracking to be updated but at least it is on it's way.

American zipcodes can cover vast amounts of space.

Basically they are used by the sorting machinery .

The actual letter carriers use the street address because being able to read is practically mandatory for the job.

I received a parcel the other day with a slightly snippy note from my carrier pointing out that it would have arrived earlier if the house number didn't have two numbers reversed.

Items like petrified wood probably bear closer examination at the GSP centre than, say, a tea kettle. It's probably in the queue. What is your estimated date of delivery? Sometimes tracking is slow to be updated and it may be that it is already en route to you with a separate tracking number that they neglected to supply in a timely fashion.

Hi there. I thought it odd that every item I have ever purchased through Global Shipping arrived there with an email sent to me to how it arrived and also an email that it has left the building! This time I have had no emails from them and so that is why I'm concerned.

Have you bought petrified wood through GSP in the past? Perhaps it’s been held as potentially prohibited. What’s your estimated date of delivery?
