How can I find where my package ended up?

I live in an apartment that has very small mail slots, and while there is a larger mail box that you can get a key for to open, occasionally larger orders will just go to one of the nearby post offices instead. Sometimes my apartment staff just forget to put the key in my mailbox, so how can I tell if my larger package came to my apartment complex, so I can talk to the staff regarding my package, or if it's at a post office, and if so, which one? There's about 3 in my area I've had packages go to in the past. Thank you?

If the carrier does not leave the package, she takes it back to  a postal outlet or post office, whichever is nearest.

She leave a Notice in you mailbox with the location and when it can be picked up.

This is usually the next business day.

Bring ID, you may have to sign for it, no matter whether it has tracking and signature confirmation or not.

If you are expecting a package, it would be a good idea to give a heads up to the staff in any case.
