If the $5.35 shipping charge was the quoted shipping price to your region, the seller is not allowed to increase the shipping cost after the listing ends. Does the listing offer shipping to your country? If you haven't accidentally bid on and won a listing with shipping to the US only, then all you have to pay is the quoted shipping price. You might want to send this link to your seller,it contains the selling practices policy. The relevant portion is in the what not to do section of the terms and conditions section.

Some sellers have one price in the shipping details section of the listing and another, higher price in the item description. This is also not allowed. If this happens to you,all you are required to pay is the amount quoted in the shipping details section.

Contact seller and include the link scifan posted. Tell him to check the shipping posted in the listing and send a corrected invoice or cancel the transaction.

I see a $12.95 listing with $5.75 shipping.

You could try pay now and see if you can adjust shipping amount but seller may have changing total blocked.

When you win something, you usually will get an email from ebay indicating you won in addition to an invoice from the seller. The email from ebay should show the shipping as it was in the listing and a pay now button. Pay from that and not the invoice the seller sent which has the higher shipping.

You have several tools.

The first is educating the seller as described above. Some sellers, especially newbies, don't realize their advertised price is set in stone.

Second is asking for a Mutual Cancellation. This ends the transaction amicably, gives the seller his fees back (which can amount to 15-20% of your payment). and allows both of you to leave feedback.

If the seller files an Unpaid Item Dispute instead, you can win it by paying the original advertised amount.

You have up to 60 days to leave appropriate feedback. The most effective feedback is calm and factual.

At the same time you can leave Detailed Seller Ratings. The normal transaction gets 5 stars. The lowest Rating is ONE.

And remember you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
