An item ended and I am awaiting payment on my listing. It has been two days (aprox) and nothing has been shown in my PayPal account. Is there a definite way I can see if the buyer has sent payment? Does Paypal hold payment or do I need to pay my Ebay fees before I get the credit?
The grey dollar sign on your Items Sold list turns blue.
You will see a payment with details in your Paypal account.
While eBay normally sends an invoice automatically when the seller has stated shipping charges, you may be asked to send an invoice if your buyer is not somewhere that those charges cover.
Yes, Paypal will hold your customer's payment against your good service for 21 days. If you use PP shipping labels to send the parcel the cost of the label will be released immediately.
Even though the rest of the payment is 'in escrow', you must ship within 7 days of the customer's payment clearing. This is pretty well instant if the customer attached a credit card to his PP account, but can take 10 days if he is using an e-check and paying from his bank account.
PP will not allow you to print a shipping label if the customer's payment has not cleared.
Did you send an invoice to the buyer? Have you contacted the buyer letting them know they have won and kindly need to make a payment. I usually open an Unpaid Item Assistant after four days if payment wasn't recorded. This way the buyer gets a strike out of three on their eBay account and you get your Final Value Fee refunded. It can also take up to 21 days for payment to show in your PayPal account which you can have access to. Take a look at the item you sold - is the blue dollar sign there or is it faded? If it's blue, it means buyer has paid, if it's faded, buyer has not paid.
