We paid through paypal for an article; would like to know if we are eligible for refund for the shipping as well; the seller is ok to refund

the articles we bought do not meet the requirement, due to a misunderstanding of size; the seller is ok to take it back and refund but with paypal we seem to be eligible for payment for the return shipping costs as well. However, we do not have an account only use this type of payment occasionnally.

If there is a Paypal dispute opened, PP does not refund more than your original payment, and that only when you can prove you have returned the item.

However.

If you and the seller make a different agreement, without PP's being involved, the two of you can do whatever you like.

In this case, the seller has agreed to refund you on return and to pay you not only the original amount you paid but also your return shipping.

Because the return shipping should still be with Confirmation of Delivery, you will be using Regular Domestic Parcel, Expedited, or Tracked Parcel . Choose the one which is applicable and cheapest and let the seller know how much it will cost.

The seller is unlikely to know how much return postage will be, and this could be a shock. However, if you return the item and he refunds nothing, you will need Delivery Confirmation as a backup plan.

Most people are honest so probably I am just being cynical. But don't be surprised if your seller is upset about the actual cost of return postage.

BTW- USPS charges Americans $20 or more to confirm delivery of shipments to Canada. Most Americans don't know that either.

Here is PP on guest payments..

The best way to resolve an issue with a transaction is to communicate directly with your seller. Most sellers welcome the opportunity to work out problems and provide good customer service.

If you're unable to resolve the issue directly with the seller, and have the original email receipt for the transaction, you can open a dispute within 45 days of the payment. By opening a dispute, you can communicate with your seller to resolve the problem.

If you are unable to resolve the dispute within 20 days, you can escalate the dispute to a claim with PayPal. To report the problem, you must sign up for a PayPal account by clicking the Sign up Now link in your email receipt. If you do not have the original receipt, contact Customer Service and we'll resend it.

If seller doesn't refund , it may be easier to contact credit card issuer and request a chargeback. Should open an account if you plan to continuing using ebay.

Hi .. that is incorrect..PayPal requires return ,at your expense, with on line delivery confirmation. Signature required if payment was over $250. US
