The experience will vary a bit depending on where you list and where your buyers are.
No problems until one of my listings on .com sold and my money was put on hold until I provided something to prove I was non-American (driver's license was what I used). Once that was accepted, the hold was removed.
I list primarily on .CA with a few listings on .COM
Receive payment in Canadian funds.
Selected weekly payments instead of daily. This gives me a bit of a float to cover any refunds, any ebay labels (which I currently don't use) and reduce the accounting paperwork.
Payments on Tuesday are in my bank account by Wednesday.
Have a no-fee bank account that is primarily for eBay use (dusted off an old Tangerine chequing account I had).
Aside from the .com hiccup things have run smoothly for me.
Payment information is not easy to reach from the order page.
