The buyer said the player would not play the blu ray discs he tried it on, then later, he admitted it was a firmware upgrade that was needed on these blu ray players, that function almost like computers.....otherwise, no firmware upgrade meant some discs would not play on it.
I thought about asking him to respond to a possible 'request negative feedback' request, then noted he complained also about 'the high postage I paid you already' for the package, AFTER he paid it and got his lowball offer, to boot....like I collected $26 (the actual rate Canada Post charges) shipping from him, then employed a free carrier pigeon from here in Quebec to drop the package over some rural house in Manitoba.....
would ebay CS remove the negative, if i update them on the fact he admitted in the email the player itself was not defective ?
so the reason i did not ask him yet to remove the negative was I figured he's a hard case low baller who penalizes ebay sellers for expensive Canada Post service.........buyers who punish sellers with feedback because of high cost shipping or delayed CP shipping ( another issue)
FEEDBACK WILL MAKE NO DIFFERENCE TO THE STATUS OF YOUR SELLING ACCOUNT WITH EBAY.
Did you sell him the bluray player?
If you did not, you owe him nothing.
Did you sell him bluray discs that will not play on his own broken bluray player?
If you did not, you owe him nothing.
If you sold him either, ask him to open an eBay dispute (which must be done within 30 days of delivery).
If eBay instructs you to send him return shipping, you must send it.
If he is in the USA you can buy a USPS label using Shippo. You need a Canada Post Small Business Solutions number for this.
You can get that here:
https://www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/business.page
You can work out the cost of the USPS label from here:
https://postcalc.usps.com/?country=10440
Use "size and shape" and scroll to the bottom for First Class International Package rates. These are the cheapest service with Confirmation of Delivery.
If you do not send return shipping, you lose the case, your product, and the payment.
Do not refund until you get the product back.
if i update them on the fact he admitted in the email the player itself was not defective ?
Ah! Good!
This makes the Dispute into a Buyer Remorse return.
The Buyer pays for such returns, not you.
Keep in mind, No Returns does not mean No Refunds.
You want your item back before refunding.
If it has been more than 30 days since delivery, he can start a Paypal dispute, but in that case he MUST pay for return shipping himself.
Get your stuff back. Refund him. Block him. Relist and resell.
