Shipping calculator still does not work for USA destinations -- there must be a bug

I've listed my item's Shipping Details for shipping to Canada and the United States.  As per other discussion postings, I've entered two services for shipping to the USA and I've made sure those services are valid.  On viewing my item, Shipping Details tab, I can select United States and see the two services -- as long as I don't fill in the zip code!  As soon as I do fill in a zip code, the services disappear!  This has to be a bug.

 

Details:

- My item is Wood-Working MARBLE TOWER - project with parts, item ID 290841053248.

 

- In the item listing, Shipping Details tab, Change country dropdown, I select |United States|.  Now I see:

Note that I did NOT check the checkmark in the last section.  Instead eBay filled that in for me when I listed the item.  Pity! because I don't want the buyers to contact me for costs, I want them to be able to use the shipping calculator.

There is a known disconnect between the dimensions for some Canada Post parcel services and USPS parcel services.

Try this.

First, make your dimensions metric. Canada Post went metric in 1974 and any other dimensions are approximations.

Then, if the shipping cost does not show up after you have listed the item and entered a zipcode (I use 90210) , that is probably the disconnect.

Go back to Revise and add a centimetre to your Canadian dimensions.

Try the US dimensions again.

Usually this corrects the problem and does not change the amount your Canadian customers will see.

Unfortunately it did not resolve the problem.  I made my dimensions metric in Add Remove Options, entered the metric dimensions to no avail.  I added "1" to each dimension, but the behaviour is still the same:  The Canada Post - USA service lines appear at first, but disappear upon entering a zip code.
