Auction ended list & exchange rates

2 things:
1) when I go to the ended section of watching more often than not there is no list present. Other times they show items I got rid of weeks ago. This nuisance started about a week ago.
2). I look at a particular list of what I'm watching, when the items are in columns. I see the US dollar value for the item price and shipping amount underneath of which are the CN dollar amount.
Upon clicking the item to full page the CN dollar amount is totally different -especially with the shipping amount. For example a shipping amount on the column list was $45 CN. Upon clicking the item to full page the CN mysteriously jumped to $165.00!!! Two fairly expensive items were not bought by me because I wasn't sure I wouldn't be charged the higher amount. Quite apart from that it's a pain in the ass having to do mental math as an auction is a few seconds away from closing.
Thank you.

That might be the GSP.

The $45 would be the shipping from the seller to the GSP plant in Kentucky with proof of delivery and from KY to you.

Then the GSP covers Canadian duty and sales taxes plus a ~$5 service fee.

The Global Shipping Program is a Seller Protection program andusually is of no value to a Canadian buyer.

But when the purchase is ' fairly expensive ' purchase under the GSP can be less expensive than USPS or courier shipping. And of course many US sellers just won't ship fairly expensive items internationally.

You might try using a sniping program instead of manual sniping.

The sniping company will place your bid later and more reliably than you can.

Or just bid earlier.

Bid once, bid your maximum.

And if someone bids more, that sucker overpaid, right?
