Does anyone know why some listings show how many are "watching", and others do not? I currently have listings with several "watching" however it does not show on the actual listing. It might be an incentive to buyers, to see others are also interested. Just wondering why. Cheers.
It also depends on what region the 'watchers' are from. If you look carefully, you may also notice that some of those listings have the number of watchers shown in orange instead of black. It is an international sight visibility thing. Also, the number of other watchers has started to show in Watch summary lists where it shows as red.
I don't get excited about my number of watchers on an item as a seller anymore; I figured out more than half of the people with an eye on my listings are people wanting to sell a similar item. I do, however, feel spurred into quicker action when I see a lot of people watching an item that I think I might want to buy. So.....

My listings all show the number, but only when the number watching is greater than zero. If zero, it's just a blank spot.
There are time delays with the ebay computers spreading information across all systems, so perhaps in your examples, the watchers are recent or the watcher stopped watching.
