When create a new listing the category list is grey. Cannot select any category

I have a MAC OX X 10.8.2. I am using Safari 6. I cannot select any category. When I try to choose from the category list, I cannot because the list is greyed out. When I go to recently listed category and tick  a box, it does not recognize that I have done so and keeps asking to choose at least one category.

Give it a minute or two....the options will eventually be available.  I don't know why there is a lag, but there is.
