Part ordered on Nov 1, 2024. Shipped DHL by the seller. Delivery was scheduled for Nov 18. Nov 25 tracking info show "part destroyed". Claim made to ebay Nov 30th. Conatcted seller several times. He says nothing he can do to help. Here's the history from Ebay...
Jan 9 the case was put on hold, "seller provided information that the part is in transit"

Was the part forwarded through "eBay International Shipping"? If so, that would explain the seller's reluctance to get involved in the claim as sellers who use that service are only responsible for having the item delivered safely to a forwarding hub in suburban Chicago.
Why did you need to contact DHL and Apple Express? There shouldn't be any need to do that for an eBay claim.
What was the part? Was it a used part that could have had fuel residue on it? eBay International Shipping has a prohibition against those.
Finally, did you use a credit card to pay for the part?
Sorry for all the questions, but usually Money Back Guarantee claims are pretty straightforward. The fact that you were in contact with DHL and Apple Express makes me wonder if the claim was filed properly or if extra steps were thrown in that complicated the claim process.

You bought a part.
It was shipped to you using DHL.
The part was not delivered in time.
You filed an Item Not Received claim.
You have not been refunded.
Forget eBay.
Go to the credit card you really paid with and open a chargeback since you have not received the part.
