If today is the last estimated delivery date, then the help being offered is the pursuit of a refund. There’s not much else that can be done, unfortunately.

Here’s some information on the eBay Money Back Guarantee process. Since it appears that your item was forwarded through eBay International Shipping, you don’t really need to get the seller involved as their responsibility for the item’s safe delivery ended once the item reached the hub, though you might want to send them a quick, polite message alerting them that the item didn’t arrive by the last estimated delivery date.

You bought  an item that was shipped by the eBay International Shipping program.

This is a Seller Protection program.

You were given a last estimated date for delivery (June 17? that's today)

Your seller shipped to the eIS Hub in Illinois (near Chicago) and there their responsibility for delivery ended.

Delivery is now the responsibility of eIS.

This is normal and happens thousands of times a day.

EIS hands the delivery off to a sub-contractor who carries it over the border.

The sub-contractor may or may not further sub-contract to a Canadian shipper.

It is delivered -- by June 17th.

Today.

Much of this is counter-intuitive.

DO NOT WATCH SHIPPING

The tracking numbers keep changing

DO NOT WATCH SHIPPING.

You are covered by eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

Watching shipping does not speed anything up.

If the shipment has not appeared by June 18th (tomorrow) you can start a Claim from your My eBay-> Purchases.

If you win the Claim and the purchase turns up later, eIS does not want it back. It's yours.

If you are not home to receive the shipment, the carrier will leave a Notice about where and when it can be picked up or re-delivered.

Your import fees (duty and sales taxes ) were pre-paid.

But

DON'T WATCH TRACKING.

BTW- eBay dot CA gets a few of these worried posts a week . You are not alone and the program is not well explained from the buyer's end, perhaps because it is a Seller Protection program that offers little to the buyer.

There is a very good chance reason your item got held up was due to it using a Lithium rechargeable battery. There are widespread issues with these types of items and eIS. Very likely because this part of the item is considered hazardous that is what is causing any delays.

Restricted items and categories

Due to export limitations and restrictions, items listed in the following categories also can't be shipped with eBay International Shipping. This is not an exhaustive list and it may be updated based on transportation regulations and export laws.

  • Electronics > Standalone lithium batteries (not inside or with a device)
  • Electronics > High-power lithium battery devices (over 100 watt-hour)

Note: The not inside tends to be what causes confusion.

It appears messaging really needs to be addressed for this category of items.
