Seller sent my package to completely wrong address and it's not even the correct item

Long story short, I bought a book from this seller in France, it took him over weeks to finally send my package, the Chronopost he used does not have a branch in Canada which means the item will be transfered to a third part which was Fedex.

This Monday while I was checking the updates, it says my package is delivered. But I did not get a thing, I had to go to the Fedex shipping center in my city, they finally located my package was delivered to a game shop in a mall. Only postal was correct but not address nor name. However the tracking number is exactly what he sent to me. Not to mention the book was a totally wrong one.

I left negative feedback, and opened the case. He got mad with my negative feedback and refuses to refund. He claims that he has proof of delivery from office with my name and address. However with what's in my hand is not my item but with my postal code and tracking number.

I'm panicking that ebay would take his side, tomorrow I am suppose to give ebay a call and see what's going on. I do also have the original packaging paper works.

Umm.

The seller sent an item to your postal code (is that what you mean by postal?) but not to your name or address. The item in the package was not what you ordered.

Is it possible that the postal code and the name and the address and the item were correctly sent to the shop and you were only given the incorrect tracking?

That you were trying to claim a package that was not yours at all?

What did the guys at the game shop say when you attempted to retrieve the package?
