90% ebay "private listing - bidders' identities protected" is "fraudulence", that Ebay seller is fakement on ebayprivate listing.
Hi everyone,

Thank you for understanding.
I do not have an answer per se but wanted to say I do not buy the reasons already given. I can think of very few legitimate reasons why someone would need to do so. I would have to suspect it as a deceptive process, quite possibly to increase final auction price. EBay should NOT allow "private listing-bidder's identities protected" IMO
Can you show how a private listing is fraudulent?
And please note spelling, the collection of letters used does not make a word.
Many private listings are for embarrassing items.
Some are for items that are based on a Best Offer or on a group of items that would be of interest only to one buyer.
And during the holidays, some buyers don't want household members to see what their present will be.
The private listing option hides the identities and email addresses of all bidders, both during and after a sale. Only the seller and the highest bidder see the listing results, and only the seller knows who bought the item.
Private listings simply hide associations.
When a listing is private, it simply becomes impossible to link a particular eBay member to a particular listing, since their bids are hidden and there is no link in feedback to the item. Members' evaluations of one another in feedback, however, are still viewable.
