Why are Shipping Costs Increased After I Click on the Listing?

You know how when you are looking through listings it tells you basic informaiton like shipping costs? For some reason many of the listings I see have one shipping price, but then when I click on the it and view the full listing the shipping cost has often doubled.

Anyone else having this problom? It makes sorting by cheapest price+shipping a little ineffective and frustrating.

same thing....I think its seems to display the price you would have paid with the global shipping program......but when you click on the item, it shows the newer price because ebay have enrolled people on the new ebay international shipping program that is now charging very high shipping fees and not including duties/taxes ................This new program will kill international purchases...its too expensive...not worth it anymore

@thechabinator That isn't possible, either the seller has gsp pricing or EIS pricing, it won't show both.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread and in another thread, I think that it may be caused by sellers not entering the weight an dimensions on their listing. If they are shipping free domestically or using a flat rate box, they don't realize that they must enter the dimesnsions for the international portion.When this happened to one seller we asked them to enter the weight and dimensions and the price was the same on the search view and after clicking into the listing.

thechabinator - I haven't noticed especially high prices with the new program, in fact when I did a search for Coach wallets, the shipping price to Canada for items shipped through EIS varied from $11 -$22. With the gsp the average seemed to be from $16-$25. What sort of items are you seeing te high prices on?

@pjcdn2005I buy tools and saw the price of the sellers I often buy from raise a lot..in fact, prices are now too high ...there is nothing I can buy that is worth it right now....also, having duties/taxes included in the price was a big + for me....if the seller dont use the right carrier, I get charged brokerage fees too...with global shipping program it was included...

You might want to ask them if they are entered and if not, explain that if they enter them, it might lower their international shipping cost.

You will often get a faster and friendlier answer if your pose your question as being of benefit to the other person.

EBay promotes Tracking as a benefit for buyers, but it is really mostly a Seller Protection against false "not received " claims.
