Can seller add additional shipping charges after item is already paid for?

I made a purchase and paid for the $3.60 that the seller wanted for shipping. I just recieved an email this morning that they want to invoice me an additional $3.85 for shipping. Can a seller do that? It's already paid, shouldn't they just have to take the loss?

Item number was 330755001903

You are right, that listing clearly states $3.60.  The seller is required to ship the item to you for that amount or refund your money entirely.  The shoes will cost more than that to ship, so whether you feel up to compensating the foolish seller for the mistake or not is up to you.  Then again, maybe the 'mistake' is a deliberate ruse.  Either way, it is a violation of ebay policy to try to get more money from a buyer than what is clearly stated in the listing.  Your seller should be sufficiently experienced by now to know that.  Here is a related link to have a look at if you like:

Not to worry, I am sure all will turn out for the best when your seller remembers you can leave feedback. 🙂

Here's a thought, -- if you want the shoes as badly as all that, you might ask yourself if it is worth the $3.85 to get them.  The seller is not ripping you off because there is no way they will ride for 3.60.  So if you have to choose between getting a refund according to ebay policy or compensating the seller by 3.85 and getting the shoes, - well, you decide.

Hi again, 'canadamom',

If the seller will not mail you the shoes, and will not refund you, your buyer protection is here:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/item-not-received.html

I understand you want the shoes for that price, but you simply cannot force a seller to package and ship them to you.  If the seller steadfastly refuses to do one of the only 2 available options (refund or ship) then you file a claim as soon as possible, adding to the claim that the seller refused to send the item unless you paid more money than what was stated in the listing.

Anyone who does much buying on ebay has had a 'super deal' of an item refunded and told it was 'no longer available'.  Sometimes we just don't get what we want.  If the seller won't ship the item and has not refunded you, file a claim.

You have 60 days to leave feedback.  If you can state the facts as pleasantly as possible, you will give yourself more credibility.

First, since the seller offered the mutual cancelation, which you refused,he's no longer interested in selling the item to you even if it means violating eBay policy. Ask the seller if he will send you a full refund. If he does,it eliminates the need to open the dispute. If he refuses the refund or offers only a partial refund, open the dispute as soon as possible. You can't force the seller to ship to you but you can force a refund out of him if necessary.
You could also send your seller the link in dmil's post,it may jog the seller into admitting his mistake and shipping at the quoted price.
If the seller is stubborn and refuses to ship unless you pay the extra fee, open an item not received dispute and state that the seller is demanding extra money for shipping above that quoted in the listing.
