Why global shipping, charging customs etc where no charge was before

What a master scam. I have purchased always ask for USPS, and only paid custom dutys once. You can bet I will not be buying from any sellers using Global shipping....As we are all aware that used or parts built under NATFA usually don't carry duty charges.

You echo my sentiments exactly. Someone in the loop is getting a cut that was previously not there. I too will not buy from anyone using the GSP if they will not ship using the postal system as well. It is what it is.

I am done with Global.  Not only does shipping cost insane. I ended up paying $40 for $100 Item. Then it took 4 weeks to get here.

I agree! It is horrible. I ordered three items (preowned scrub tops) for a great price and had the three items from the same seller shipped individually, all arriving at different times and paid over $60 in shipping plus duty on each.

i ALSO VERY RARELY PAY EXTRA COSTS WHEN GETTING ITEMS SHIPPED TO CANADA. WHEN I DO IT IS NOWHERE NEAR WHAT THE GSP AND UPS CHARGE. BOTH ARE SCAMS!!!!!

I have been a long time ebay shopper...but this Global shipping will put an end to my business. I can DRIVE over and pick up the item in the USA cheaper.

HOW DO you figure that .. The seller charghes you shipping to kentucky then pitney bowes will charge you shippingfrom kentucky to your destination ..

I think you confused .. it is not cheaper no matter how you slice it

How do you figure that. You would have to need what ever you are selling pretty bad or
are unable to get it any where else to even consider paying all these extra charges.

Do what I've done for over four years, if it isn't USPS DON'T buy it.
Contact eBay on a regular basis about it and complain to sellers about it.
Sooner or later the dimwits will understand we are serious.

I recently contacted eBay in regard to the new Global Shipping Program which is too **bleep** pricey to Canadians. After talking to them I can provide some additional information on how they describe the program. I DISAGREE WITH BOTH the BENEFIT to the buyer and the need to pay a huge conglomerate like Pitney Bowes an unnecessary middleman fee. Sellers should be aware that angry buyers will shop elsewhere or bid less - there is no monetary gain whatsoever. Anyway I QUOTE EBAY as follows and I have provided a couple of investigative links:

"The new Global Shipping program is the most reliable way for sellers to get items to their international buyers. It allows all the cost of purchasing internationally to be presented upfront to the buyer with no additional charges being requested from the post office. This means that the appropriate duties and customs fees are paid before the item is shipped, and can be viewed in the item order details."
