I had a buyer buy several items over 2 days of mine, ebay combined the items that were bought close together, but I could not find a way to combine the other items together. I told the buyer I would send him two seperate invoices for the items and one invoice wouldn't have a shipping charge(I don't charge extra for shipping several items this light). He said it'd be easier if I just sent him one combined invoice via paypal, I did so, he paid, great buyer. I marked it as payment received, however ebay still says checkout not cleared. Is this not allowed on ebay? I have already shipped the item, but am wondering if I somehow bypassed some kind of fees or something.
It is allowed.
Some buyers will look on it with suspicion because it is a common scam with sellers who tempt buyers "off eBay".
Be sure your customer understands why you are doing it, that you include the eBay listing numbers, and that your customers understands that Paypal's own Buyer Protection Program is almost identical whether you are buying through eBay, or through another site.
Mostly you should be ready to reassure your customer if he is anxious. Probably you should not tell him about that last point, unless asked, because it could raise concerns instead of allaying them.
It is not unusual for to use a PP invoice, rather than an eBay one when purchases are made from both a dotCOM and a dotCA listing.
