"Shipping not specified" in Ebay listings.

Apparently this problem has been occurring since 2013 and is still not fixed.  This problem occurs on both the Ebay.ca and Ebay.com site.

I'm a Canadian seller and I offer Free Shipping.  I sell only to the U.S. and Canada. 

Not only have I specifically checked the box for "Free Shipping" in my shipping policy, but I have stated it in the ad itself.  Yet Ebay continues to state "Shipping not specified" for all my Ebay items when first listed.

When the viewer sees the listing on Ebay as "Shipping not specified", they don't bother clicking on the auction because they'll assume the seller won't disclose the shipping cost.  This results in less viewers and less sales.

Thanks a lot, Ebay, for not fixing what seems to be a technical glitch, which has not been addressed for at least FOUR YEARS or more.

you are Canadian listing on ebay .com,  as a Canadian looking on ebay.ca i can't see your items..That means you have no specified shipping set up for Canada delivery.  Because you sell on .com, shipping to Canada is considered international shipping, whereas shipping to the Usa would be domestic shipping.. I am sure it is on your end, in the way you have your shipping set up. You have to define 2 shipping options, to cover Canada and the Usa.. Simply clicking on free shipping won't help if you only have domestic shipping applied..

For the International Shipping option:
Select "Choose custom location" and pick Canada
Then for Services pick either Economy or Standard or Expedited International Shipping
and set the Cost to 0.00

This will give a free shipping cost for Canada,

I called Ebay, and their customer service rep in the Phillipines helped me fix the problem. Seems I neglected to specify the package weight in the shipping policy setup. The items now come up in listings as "Free Shipping."

But you bring up an important point. I switched from using ebay.ca and started listing on ebay.com because when I first started, I got very few Canadian buyers. My shipping was set up for "No international shipping". However my auctions default stated "Ships to the United States." (no mention of Canada) I posted a new item and created a new shipping policy where I unchecked "International Shipping" but stipulated shipping only to the US and Canada. As I offer free shipping, I don't need the postage calculation table.
A big problem remains, however, that I can't solve. Whenever I click on my Ebay name, whether on the Ebay.ca or Ebay.com site, it continues to indicate that I have nothing up for sale (0 items), even though when I log into both ebay.com and ebay.ca, I can see all my items. But apparently nobody in Canada or the US can? Perhaps this explains why so few views. Some items I post for 7 days and after 7 days there were only 3 views. This seems really odd. But thanks for replying to my question. One problem solved; the other one still hunting for an answer. 🙂

that's your problem, you said you unchecked international shipping, when you list on ebay.com. Canada is considered international. so the system assumes you don't send to Canada( international).. that's why Canadians can't see your listings..
