Wow, 7 days?  Gosh, what nice sellers. 🙂

Hello 'vanyal',

The earliest you can file the dispute is after 4 days, - how long, well that's up to you.  It seems every now and then a seller doesn't bother to file at all, which is weird because sellers will have to pay fees.  For most, however, they're setting their wrist watches to count down to hour 96.

It is nice to send a pleasant reminder before launching the Unpaid dispute.  Most do that at the end of day 3, - and file at the end of day 4.  Leb's link will tell you how it goes officially.  Then, you can close it 4 days after that and relist.  So at the very least your item will be tied up for 8 days if the person does not pay.

Once closed, you get your fees back, no one leaves feedback, and you can add the nonpayer to your list of blocked bidders here:

And if you have not already done so, block anyone with 2 or more unpaid strikes because they tend to be repeat offenders:

All these links are interconnected on the same page, but take a moment to read up on it if & when you have time.

That depends... has the buyer contacted you at all? Sometimes things happen and as sellers we have to try to be undertsnading. For example, a relative has died, and they've been out of town making funeral arrangements.

However, for the most part, I stick to a 7 day window, sending them a polite reminder after 5 days. After 7 days, I publish an unpaid item case against the buyer (unless they contact me and give me a date when they can pay, such as the case above). Once I open the unpaid item case, I send them another email telling them I have done so, and how many days they have to pay before the case closes. I personally leave cases open for 5 days. Then, I report the unpaid item strike and relist the item.

Good luck getting a payment, and hope things work out!

Hi vanyal78

This link should explain:

I myself allow 7 days from EOA (End Of Auction) then send a nice remider to pay in XX days. If no responce then file UPI (Unpaid Item) dispute.
