How to ship video game cartridges in Canada

Hey everyone;

I have a bunch of games I want to put for sale on ebay
From the original Sega, NES, SNES, N64, etc

What’s the best way to ship while still being able to offer reasonable shipping costs?

Maybe I’m bad at researching, but I can’t find legitimate / constant answers anywhere

Thanks!

Sample template to confirm you are in guidelines or you can construct your own.

They can be shipped letter rate in a bubble envelop (purchased at any high quality dollar store) within Canada letter rate at sellers discretion. Higher value you could use expedited light up to 200 grams with tracking. Rates depend on delivery location. (Rates dpend on prov tax. distance and fuel surcharge)
100 Grams 2.09 + GST
200 Grams 3.43 + GST
Remember maximum thickness for letter is 2 cms. CP letter rates attached

USA would have to go Tracked which has a good discount right now that can will display with the setting attached turned on

Note: Opinions will vary. Really all depends on your level of comfort sending items by mail.

The first thing you need to do is purchase a scale. If you're going to be dealing with smaller packages, a small food scale that measures in grams can work. It should cost you about $10, maybe $20.

If you can ship these safely while keeping them under 200g, you should be able to ship using Canada Post for under $10. You have to print the labels directly from eBay to get their Canada Post discounts. eBay has a service called Expedited Lite, it costs about $8 to most areas. They have a service for the USA called Tracked Packet that also costs about $8. Again, you have to keep the package below 200g to qualify for those rates.

If you are selling loose cartridges without boxes, I would weigh each cartridge and see how close it is to 200g. A size 0 bubble mailer with a label could weigh about 20g. So you have about 180g to play with. If you have the weight for it, I would consider tightly wrapping the game in a few layers of bubble wrap, or adding cardboard stiffeners.

If your packages are above 200g, either look into extra-small Canada Post Flat Rate boxes. These cost $16.99. Or find the smalles box that fits your cartridges and print the labels. Shipping to USA would still be Tracked Packet.

Canada Post ships world wide and there are discounts if you use eBay to make your shipping labels.

The shipping supplies at POs are overpriced. If there isn't a Staples near you, look online both here on eBay or the ULine or Staples websites.
