I’ve been facing a frustrating issue with eBay, and I’m hoping to get some advice or feedback from others who might have experienced something similar.
I’m based in Alberta, where we don’t have provincial sales tax, but it seems like eBay is having a hard time distinguishing between provinces when it comes to applying the correct tax rates. I’ve noticed discrepancies in how my taxes on fees are calculated.
To make matters worse, I’ve been struggling to get clear answers from eBay’s phone support. It feels like I’m hitting a wall every time I try to explain the difference in tax regulations. As someone outside Ontario, I can’t even claim the HST I am being charged.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with provincial tax settings on eBay? If so, how did you resolve it? Any tips on dealing with eBay support or ensuring taxes are handled correctly for Alberta-based sellers/buyers?
