eBay is scamming me

So I sold an item on eBay while it was shipping it got delayed. Buyer opened an item not received case on me and won it for some reason even though the item had tracking showing that it was still in transit. So the buyer got all their money back plus shipping. Well now the item has been delivered and I can't get any money or my item back since they already closed the case. The real thing to understand here is that I a seller did nothing wrong and lost my product and money for shipping.

So now we play a mind game encourage the customer to return the refund.

Send the customer a cheerful and polite Message saying that you see he has now received the purchase. Apologize for the late delivery. Remind him politely that there is a Plague on and most shipping services are backed up at three to six times Holiday levels.

The tell him that you have sent him a Paypal invoice and that he can easily return the refund by paying it.

Cheery. Friendly. Polite. Confident.

Some sellers will sweeten the pot by discounting the new invoice by the price of the shipping, which, obviously did not meet your high standards.

If you offer Free Shipping, the amount of such a discount, should you decide to give one, is up to you.
