There is no system set up on eBay to compensate you for parts to fix an item unless the seller is willing to offer a partial refund instead of a return. As others explained, you could request a return if it has been less than 30 days since the item arrived. If the item was damaged in shipping and you state that in the return request, you will likely receive a refund from the GSP and not have to return it. If the damage is deemed to be the sellers fault, they can then either offer a partial refund or pay fir return shipping. But nothing can happen until you start the return process.
The Money Back Guarantee is an automated process.
The phone reps actually try not to explain it to you.
You file a Claim for Not As Described.
No easily confused humans are involved.
And as noted, state that the motor was shipped via the Global Shipping Program.
If there is anything that indicated that it was damaged while in GSP hands, say so.
This is actually the Best because GSP does not want it back and the seller is not at fault.
So you don't have to do anything more than take it to the dump.
If the Seller is deemed at fault, he may want you to return it and this is more complex and expensive for him.
If it has been more than 30 days since delivery, go for a chargeback on the credit card you used to pay. The 1-800 number on the back of the card is where to start.
You should not be required to pay return shipping.
Once the motor is back with the Seller, you are refunded in full.
Not looking to return but looking for compensation for replacement parts.
It's called a MONEY Back Guarantee, not a partial refund guarantee.
And once you repaired it, you substantially changed it, so the MBG may no longer apply.
Best wishes. Hope this works out for you.
