Purchasing Uranium Glass on eBay.

Hello out there.  My son collects Uranium glass and I was considering purchasing him one of these items from eBay until I started to hear stories about what happens to Uranium glass if it is  bought through a seller using Global Shipping.  What I have heard is that any seller that ships with Global Shipping is unwittingly sending the Uranium glass to it's destruction.  I have heard that Global Shipping destroys any Uranium glass that shows up at their facility because of the uranium content.  Quite ridiculous if this is true since there is not enough uranium is these glass items to harm any one.  Would anyone out there know is this is the case?  Thanks all.

I think that if you're considering purchasing antiques on eBay, you'd be far better off finding sellers who ship directly to their non-US buyers than ones who have their items forwarded through the Global Shipping Program.  The workers in the Global Shipping Center aren't experts in antiquities and have what appears to be a narrow set of guidelines to follow when it comes to processing them.

Have you checked whether it's legal to import by mail via Canada Post?
