I started removing my " good till cancelled " listings (they had been around for a while) and relisting them as 3 day listings along with other new listings for this promotion. It was working good. So I took a bundle of listings off to relist them in the three day listing instead of the 30 days. But now it wants 20 cents each to relist. I take it that this relisting was wrong for me to do? If so why not put guide lines on it.
Promotions usually have limitations. Some are on the number (50 Free Auction Listings). Some are on who receives the invitation to participate (Store owners and Top Rated Sellers usually don't get invited to promotions that encourage heavy listing at low cost) . Some are on the product (media, sports equipment).
Twenty cents is the normal cost for shipping in a Basic Store. How long was the promotion for? Remember that 4 days is 96 hours, to the second.
From time to time, eBay will glitch (No ! Really!) and we see reports that a supposedly free service is being charged for. This is apparently usually resolved by the time the seller gets her invoice.
Hmm- another thought - are you using the Sell Your Item form or are you using a third party like Turbo Lister? The 3rd parties don't always catch on to promotions, but the eBay invoice seems to come out okay usually.
