If I promoted a listing on Ebay.ca, will it be also promoted on the Ebay.com website?

Hi,  I list on Ebay.ca and offer shipping to US so my listings are viewed on the .com site.
I also promoted my listing on Ebay.ca but someone tells me that they will not be promoted on the US side.
Is that true?

Someone gave you incorrect info.

If you were to create an ebay.ca listing that provided both a shipping service for the USA and was Promoted that listing would certainly be eligible for "Sponsored Listing" slots on ebay.com. How prominently and often it would qualify for Sponsored slots would depend on the rate used and level of competition for slots.

Based on my own experience and observations it is my opinion that on average higher PL rates are required to generate ebay.com traffic versus lower rates that generate decent results on ebay.ca.
Unfortunately, there's no way of varying PL rates unless a seller is prepared to list on both sites.

I should mention that ebay Traffic reports do not provide very useful info, they just lump together all traffic stats specific to ebay, so I have no evidence I can point to stating how many views come from each site individually.. Obviously ebay knows these stats very well but they don't share them for some reason.

According to ebay they do show on other sites.

Where do Promoted Listings Standard ads appear?

Promoted Listings Standard may appear in prominent placements across the eBay network, including the search results page and and product pages.

The eBay network is a group of sites where your promoted listings could be featured, including eBay and partner sites across the internet.

Your promoted listings may appear in sponsored placements off eBay, including search engines, to help drive traffic to your listings when buyers are actively searching and shopping across the internet.

By default, all listings in Standard campaigns are eligible to appear in external sponsored placements. Those ads may preempt other eBay-funded marketing efforts we may take on your behalf.

If you would like your Standard ads to appear on eBay only, you can submit a request to opt out of off eBay placements

You can expect to be opted out 7 days after submitting a request.

If you would like to opt back in, you can submit a request through the same form above.

You may still see "Promoted Listings Standard sales (via external placements)" in your downloadable reports after you’ve opted out due to our 30-day attribution window. For example, if a buyer clicked on your promoted listing before you opted out, then returned to purchase your listing after you opted out and within 30 days of that click, you would still be charged the ad rate in effect at the time of the click.

Are you also giving shipping rates to the USA?

If you don't give shipping rates, potential US customers will not see the listing or it will be pushed way down in Search.
