New Canada to US Tariffs: Is Canada Post Available Again on eBay? Which Shipping Carrier to choose?

It looks like eBay has brought back Canada Post as a shipping option to the US after the cancellation of the de minimis exemption. Still, does Canada Post charge higher fees than private carriers like UPS or FedEx?

Ninety percent of my sales was to the US, so I’d really like to understand the exact fee percentages for each carrier. Are they all similar?

Canada Post Tracked Packet USA used to be my best option, affordable and fast. eBay had removed it for a while, but now it seems to be available again.

I’ve read that the duty fee  are now at 35%, plus an additional 2.9% (for my japanese motorcycle part)

Any detailed information or feedback would be greatly appreciated....

Canada Post is available to use now to ship to the USA, although with their new system along with the shipping cost you need to pay upfront any tariff, customs or duty fees before you can get your shipping label,,,, Canadian sellers are in a real bad place now for shipping to buyers in the USA  (if any of them will even buy from us anymore)

UPS & FedEx have their own ways to collect all the new fees and its no better, going to be alot of really unhappy buyers and sellers in the next short time,,,,, Ebay will get bombbarded with calls from both buyers and sellers will many senerios that they never delt with before,.

Example: sold a $50 itme to a buyer in the USA, shipped UPS for a reasonable rate, when this gets delivered to the buyer they will need to pay more then $54 more to get the package. This is not going to end well for sure.

You can also buy Canada Post labels directly using your Solutions for Small Business account.

The discounts are not as good but they exist.

Canada Post does not have higher shipping charges than private couriers. In fact the private companies sub-contract to CPO for many rural and isolated communities.

But the shipping fee is not made up only of postage.

And some shippers are charging sellers up front for whatever tariffs have occurred in whatever is left of Trumps brain, some are charging buyers/importers on delivery, and some are charging importers a few weeks after delivery (looking at FedEx for which they are notorious).

when all is said and done it may not matter what carrier you choose, costs and fees have increased...best to do some research to see what will work best give ALL the difficulties with ALL carriers these days, as it is not just Canada Post that is experiencing difficulties and uncertainties these days...

It's available right now, but just don't even use it Canada post is complete trash, people want to go on strike all the time and no shipments will be made. It's better if you just use USPS or something. even UPS will do, and UPS is the best shipping service. But it's pretty expensive in fees thats all
