New to ebay...Canadian shipping question

Hello all....New to Ebay (selling) and from Canada. Just have some shipping questions if anyone could help me out 🙂  I listed a few items and used calculated shipping. Now realize that the shipping just shows up as "varied" so I am guessing the buyer has to figure out what his shipping will be or they will email me? Is this the better way to go or should I be using calculated? (just feel bad charging the person down the street and same shipping price as someone in BC). But I have read people like to see a shipping price when looking at an item.  Also what is the best  option to offer to ship to the U.S, should I also use calculated for them too? I was only going to ship within Canada but thought maybe I should include shipping to U.S too.  Thanks so much. 🙂

The seller will see the shipping cost to his doorstep when he looks.

Try inserting various postal codes (K0A 0A6 is the House of Commons in Ottawa, for example) or zipcodes (90210 is easy to remember).

Shipping to the US is a very good ideal. List in US dollars (they don't understand other currencies) and yes, use Calculated.

Be sure to option to use metric measurements, Canada Post went metric in 1974 and anything else will be inaccurate.
