Hello All,
I am a new seller on Ebay.ca, and have a variety of items for sale, ranging in price from inexpensive to pricey. When shipping via Canada Post Expedited parcel to the U.S. or internationally, is signature required an option? Or do I have to use ExpressPost in order to get a signature.? Should I require a signature, or just get pay for full insurance, or both? It seems the signature option really drives up the price of shipping drastically!
Thanks.
Keep in mind, both tracking and Signature Confirmation are only required if there is an eBay or Paypal dispute.
If the buyer says the item has not arrived, you can only use the Confirmation of Delivery from your shipper to win the case. (Yes, even if the buyer has already put your item up for sale, and stolen your description into the bargain.)
The Signature Confirmation comes into play when the value of the shipment, including postage for Paypal, is over $650Cdn.
Most, but not all, Canada Post parcel services include tracking. Some automatically include Signature, on others Signature is a purchased option.
An option well worth the buck fifty for your own peace of mind.
You can also mark a shipment No Safe Drop / Hold for Pickup to remind the carrier not to leave the parcel where it can be found by porch pirates.
Might I suggest that you add more information in your Descriptions? For example, that Samsonite suitcase- how tall, wide and deep is it? Does it have two or four rollers? Is it fabric? Is it waterproof? How many pockets? Will it fit in an overhead or must it be checked?
Many buyer will only look at the title and picture, but others want more info.
