getting frustrated with buyer who says he never received $20.00 item. one month after shipping item via regular   canada post buyer says he did not receive item. I replied to buyer saying that he should receive it shortly this goes on for weeks where's my item where's my item. Finally i tell the buyer that i will replace his item free of charge. so i sent it registered mail the item was delivered to his door. The next day i get a message from the buyer saying to me ¨ did you have time to ship my item are you kidding me or what should i report this buyer to ebay this guy could be doing this all day!!! with $20.00 items

Hi,

EBay policy is if you can’t prove delivery, which you can’t on the original item and the buyer opens a case - you lose. Period. Sending a replacement was a mistake as well because it has nothing to do with the original transaction. Your going to have to decide if sending untracked is worth it to you and chalk the rest up to lesson learned I’m afraid.

If you do not use tracking * you will lose any Not Received dispute your buyer may open.

Do some arithmetic.

Compared to the cost of sending every shipment with Proof of Delivery (registered, expedited, tracked packet) does the occasional loss of a low value item make an impact on your profits.

Or only on your ego?

Would using, and charging for, proof of delivery service, reduce the number and value of your sales?

Would weeks of harrassment be worth the cost of refunding on a reported Not Delivered item?

Losses from refunds are deductible from your profits when reporting on your taxes.

*And Registered Mail is questionable. Although it is tracked within Canada, it usually is not abroad. And eBay has not historically been good about accepting Registered as Proof of Delivery.

If you are a regular seller on Ebay one of your move is to put the ID buyer on your ''Blocked list''. So he couldn't bid on your item anymore. And you had probably made the observation that you couldn't put a negative feedback on him either. So this Ebayer probably make this processus to steal without possibility to subscribe any negative feedback against him.
