can shipping be calculated after listing has expired? Buyer can't calculate

My buyer tried to pay, but got a message that the seller hasn't calculated shipping costs.I am in Canada, buyer is in the us.

I made the listing on my phone, it has shipping for Canada, and also shipping for international. Was I to make a separate shipping for the US?

Yes.

Canada Post services to the USA are different than those for International -- so if you just have International selected the calculator will not work for the US.

...

For you listing to have calculated shipping for the USA, choose "Custom location", mark "United States", then pick a mail service from the dropdown menu that has USA in the title.

-..-

Since the listing has ended, you have to do a manual shipping cost estimate.

Go to:

https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1

Enter parcel size and weight, plus your postal code and the buyer's zip code.

Canada Post will give you rates for the different USA services(*)

If you plan to buy your shipping online, then click on "Show minimum online savings" (the default rate shown is for over the counter at the post office). Canada Post's Snap Ship has an extra 15% off this month.

Then:

you take the shipping cost that you plan to use and send the buyer an invoice with that cost. Sending the invoice should be a choice on the "More actions" drop-down menu next to the sale details.

Do not hit the "recalculate" button when on the invoice page (recalculate is ebay-speak for start-over).

Send the invoice to buyer. Buyer pays invoice that has a shipping charge, And then you ship.

(*) - some choices will not appear if the package is too small or too large. Expedited to the USA, for example,  needs at least one side that is 21cm.
