Bought a phone with mismatched IMEI - is that a concern?

I bought a phone on ebay that was classifed as NEW. The IMEI number when dialing *#06# is different to the IMEI number that is on the back of the phone and on the box. Is this a concern? Thanks

Thanks for the response. Given that the phone didnt work properly I was even more suspicious and just returned it to the seller
