A buyer want s to return an item directly in person outside of ebay, what should I do and why?

A buyer recieved an item wear I had decribed  it as being a 2.6Ghz MacBook and it turned out it was only a 2.2Ghz Mac Book in any event the buyer doesn't want it and cause he lives in the same city as I , is asking "if he can drop it buy"?, he claims it also had a scratch in the screen which Im sure wasn't their , it is possible Canada post may have damaged the item during shipping , if I find this to be so what should I do then. Do I have an issue with Canada post and it was fully insured with Canada post for the value being somewere around 900mark any bhelp would be greatly appreciated, thank-You in advance M. MacInnis.

That's a good thing. You can do some face to face negotiation.

It's also unlikely that a scammer would make such a suggestion.

Meet in a public place like Timmy's rather than at your home (even though he has your address).

It's unlikely that Canada Post scratched the screen, since they did not open the package and unfold the laptop. If they did, the package would have been marked as opened and taped with specialty tape.

Make sure the serial number of the laptop being returned matches the serial number of the one you sent.

If he paid by Paypal, you should refund by Paypal. And the two of you should initiate and agree to a Mutual Cancellation. This will get your fees back on the sale.
