Had a buyer message me at 1:50am telling me they hadn't received an item and were sorry but they were opening a case against me. Sure enough at 2:18am an INR case was opened.
So I of course wake up to this lovely news and am overjoyed she even gave me a chance to respond.
I looked up the item info and see that positive feedback was left and it stated item received. The item was shipped on Jan 24th and feedback was received on the 28th. The timing coincides with the usual delivery standards for where it was going (London,ON).
I responded to the case with this information. So now ,about an hour ago, she's closed the case and has said she always just leaves that type of feedback no matter what but has learned her lesson. Mentioned something about knowing now not to trust a seller, did another extensive search for the item but can't find it and is going on about how great it is to be out the money. But on the other hand keeps making reference to it being her mistake and her loss.
I don't know how to completely feel about this. I kinda believe she did get the item and has lost or misplaced it and it seems like she's kinda scatterbrained. She's closed the case so that's the end of that part of it right? The positive feedback has been there since Jan 28th, can anything be changed with that?
A part of me feels bad if she really didn't get the item but saying she always leaves that kind of feedback even before getting an item is either a lie or quite foolish. I dunno, this is a weird one for me.....

Steve, 35 years of retail here. I ucould see them coming in the dorr and I would say "Got a live one here". Sure enough. Everything would go sideways in the blink of an eye.
I stopped feeling sorry for most people a long time ago. The vast freakin' majority of them are authors of their own demise. Incorrect addresses, no mailbox, not going to the PO to get it.
Had one recently. Shipped off a parcel last fall. Never really thought about where it was going. Buyer starts with "where's my widget?". Then I see that they live in a war zone. Real war. Excuse me, but, bombs are blowing up yer neighbour's homes and you are buying car parts?
After four months it comes back to me as unclaimed. It wa sthere, they did not go and get it. Fine. I go to do a refund. Too late. Go to send money. Can't. That country is blacklisted. No money may be sent there by Paypal.
I have had parcels come back because of incomplete addresses: "The mailman knows me, it is okay".
I have had parcels come back because of no mailbox: "It is okay the mailman knows me".
These people seem to feel that sun shines out of their patootie.
You live in a war zone, incomplete address, no mailbox, sidewalk not shovelled, yer 100K rabid dog is snarling at the postie, and this is all my fault?
Pound sand.

I had a similar case with buyer from Russia (a year ago or so).
Small booklet was shipped as light packet , i.e. by AIRMAIL and after approx. 5 weeks I got a POSITIVE feedback.
About 10 days later he sends a question "Where is my item?"
I wrote to him ( and I was cool!) asking to check his records and bookshelves because his positive feedback of earlier date tells me that the book has been received.
Never heard from him on this or other matters.

So now, three days later this buyer has sent me another message stating that if the item does not arrive tomorrow they will be leaving me negative feedback.....
This person is a total flip-flopper, from saying they got it to saying they don't have it and left a positive by mistake. To opening a case then closing it and saying it's their loss and now this.
Can she change her positive feedback left on Jan 28th to a negative now?
Is this a feedback extortion worthy situation?

I have blocked her messages coming into my email but is there a way to block her message here on eBay as well?

She claims that eBay has advised her to file an "Internet Crime Form" against me if I don't refund her.

Steve, I am laughing so hard tears are running down my legs.
I had one about 18 months ago that was calling the FBI, CIA, I was bait and switch, suing me in every court, have you lawyer call mine, something estoppel, liar, cheat, filing with eBay's legal dept (next to hosiery), everything beyond imagination. This for $50. For something that they made a mistake buying.
If he had said "Hey, dude I got a problem", BOOM BABY, refund. The first email was a screamer. I kept his money. Blow me, but, the part came back. Just like the cat:

Like I would tell my employees when they got someone like this: "They scream at the milkman, gas station clerk, scream at the bank clerk, rip a strip off the grocery clerk, everywhere they go, scream, yell, denegrate everyone. Ignore them and remember all the good ones". Never worked, but, I tried.

I had one of "those" June 2006. I was at eBay Live in Las Vegas at the Paypal booth chatting with a supervisor while checking stuff on their computer. I had a screamer. 10-15 screaming emails in one day. You know the ones, full of caps and exclamation points.
Mgmt person saw all of this and instantly cancelled any and all claims this person was trying to start. Actually, they had started a INR, cancelled that, then started a SNAD. Policy violation.

I find it entertaining when an ignorant simpleton tries to intimidate and bully their way.
